Bali Hotel Development shifted to the North, East and West

Bali Hotels and villas in the south have been packed. Governor of Bali, Made Mangku Pasatika plan to stop development of hotels and villas in South Bali, like Kuta, Sanur and Ubud. Hotel development will be diverted to North Bali, West and East.
"We consider to make the moratorium in order to stop the growth of new hotels in South Bali, namely Badung, Denpasar and Gianyar. Growth hotel in North Bali, East and West we give permission," Pastika said during a meeting with Bali tourism component in Jayasabha Building, Jl Surapati , Denpasar, on Thursday (16/09/2010) night.
Consideration of stopping Development in South Bali hotels for tourism activity is very dense area. "Three of this district is Crowded. Loss incredible. We empower other regions that have not worked optimally," said Pastika.
Meanwhile, Secretary of Tourism and Hotel Association of Indonesia (PHRI) Bali Mark Perry asked the government of Bali not only make policies but enforcing the law to crack down on illegal villas which have damaged the tourism industry in Bali. Mentioned, there are about 17 thousand rooms villas.
Based on data from PHRI in 2009, the number of hotel rooms in Bali that officially recorded as many as 46,014 units. However, PHRI estimate the number of hotel rooms and villas are illegally reach 17 thousand units. Growth in hotel rooms and villas in Bali every year an average of about 2 thousand rooms.
"Against the dark villa, we must take concrete steps. We must take responsibility," said Pastika.
